Work-related stress is an epidemic

  • The annual cost of poor mental health to UK employers was £65bn in 2021.
  • Work-related stress, anxiety, and depression account for 50% of working days lost in the UK.
  • Working from home has its own pressures. 65% of Britons said Covid-19 had harmed their mental health.

There has never been a better time to invest in the wellbeing of your staff. Indeed, research has shown that investing in staff mental health is a no brainer (pardon the pun):

Deloitte Logo

According to a Deloitte report, for every £1 employers spend on supporting employees' mental health, they get £5 back on their investment in reduced presenteeism, absenteeism, and staff turnover.

"Smart, forward-thinking employers are investing in staff wellbeing, and those who do tend to save money in the long run. This report shows the link between prioritising staff wellbeing and improved loyalty and productivity; and decreased sickness, absence, and resignations."
Paul Farmer, Chief Executive of Mind

Why work with me?

Unlike most meditation teachers, I know what it’s like to work in a corporate environment. I have almost a decade of experience working in corporations. When I’m not teaching meditation, I continue to work as an independent economic and political risk analyst for a number of internationally-renowned global research houses.

My joint corporate and meditation experience is what makes me stand out from other teachers. I’m just as comfortable presenting to corporate clients about global economic trends as I am about meditation. I've taught meditation to finance firms, start-ups, government departments, wellbeing businesses, charities, and many more, in classes as large as 50 people in some cases. Put simply, I know how to speak a language which your staff will understand. And will give them tools to improve their own mental wellbeing.

Mike provides a space for our community to help them manage their challenges

St. Joseph's HOSPICE

Mike has been running an online mindfulness meditation group for St. Joseph’s Hospice for almost two years which is attended by our patients and their carers, volunteers and staff. He also works one-to-one with individual patients and carers. Working with Mike provides a space for our community to help them manage their challenges and support those living with or working with those with life limiting illnesses. Mike’s professionalism and presence is greatly appreciated by all who practice mindfulness with him and he is a valued member of the team at the Hospice.

His corporate background shone through

Jay, Ethic

I 'd already meditated for a few years before the course, but still found it really useful. Mike gave us some great tips to improve wellbeing at home and in the workplace. His corporate background shone through, and made his teachings very relevant to working in a corporate setting. I have massively benefitted. Thanks!

Excellent course and teaching

Cuvva

Excellent course and teaching - a great way to relax while also learning. Our Introduction to Meditation course has been informative while also providing us with time to put our new techniques into practice, in a safe and supportive environment. Highly recommend.
